Club Shooter of the Year
This idea came to me (Angie Olds) after being named 2010 Female Shooter of the Year for Florida Archery Association. ( http://www.floridaarchery.org/shooteryear2010.htm ) I thought it would create interest and benefit the club if we did something similar. By modifying the FAA rules, we have come up with a few changes to better fit our club. Since we have so few women, it won’t be a male/female competition like the FAA one and so we will divide generally by class. This competition will run from Jan. 1 – Dec 31 (except 2011 starts in Feb.).

One must be a club member in good standing to receive points. No scores before joining or renewing will count towards this award.

Awards will be given in three categories -- compound freestyle (moveable sight); compound bowhunter (fixed pins); and non-compound.

Points will be awarded only at club shoots and exclude special events (i.e. Kempfer shoot) and unscheduled/impromptu shoots. Scorecards must be turned in at the end of each shoot.

Points will be awarded in each category as such: top score = 20 points; next highest =19 points; 3rd highest = 18; and so on. In the case of a tie, both will receive the same points.

One must shoot the full adult distance for the category to receive points.
- For 3D tournaments, the shooter may shoot in the known distance (rangefinder) category and earn shooter of the year points in their bow class.
A club officer or person appointed will maintain Shooter of the Year points and the current top 20 individuals will be published on the website. In the event of a tie, duplicate awards will be given.
The person(s) with the highest score in each category will receive a nice award at the end of the year.
(Keep in mind - that some of the scheduled 900 rounds MAY be later replaced as a Field round or some other round, but it is still a regularly scheduled shoot, so it would count toward Shooter of the Year).
